My name is Frédéric, founder of ORLÉMUR — the French travel accessories brand born in Annecy in 2025.
ORLÉMUR was created to help travelers pack lighter without sacrificing comfort, through products that are durable, smartly designed, and eco-conscious.

Where it all began: a traveler’s frustration
I was never able to sleep on trains or airplanes.
That frustration stayed with me for years, because rest is one of the most valuable ways to make the most of time in transit — arriving fresher, more focused, and more productive, whether traveling for business or leisure.
As a physician and a passionate traveler, I spent years searching for the perfect travel pillow. Without success.
I purchased and tested more than 17 different models, in every shape and at every price point — U-shaped pillows, inflatable versions, memory foam designs. None addressed what truly matters: proper head support, without bulk. Beyond comfort issues, most of these products rely on petrochemical, non-recyclable fillings.
I wanted a solution that was more ergonomic, more compact, and more respectful of the planet.

A solution born from ergonomics and common sense
Thanks to my medical background, I understood that traditional U-shaped pillows do not respect the natural biomechanics of the neck.
I therefore designed an innovative travel pillow that supports the head above its lateral tipping point, helping prevent muscle tension and the neck stiffness that so many travelers experience.
The key idea:
A travel pillow you can fill with your own clothes — offering adjustable comfort, minimal bulk, and zero petrochemical foam.
This 2-in-1 design makes travel lighter, more comfortable, and more organized, as the pillow remains useful at destination as a travel pouch.

Values of openness and human connection
ORLÉMUR was born from a deep conviction: travel is a powerful source of openness and mutual enrichment.
Inspired by my experiences abroad — including academic exchanges in the United States and Sweden — I came to understand how every encounter reshapes our view of the world.
This philosophy of openness guides ORLÉMUR every day:
to create products that simplify travel, so travelers can focus on what truly matters — personal growth through connection and the discovery of other cultures.

A human-centered journey
After dozens of prototypes and extensive work on patents, trademarks, and design protection, ORLÉMUR became a brand rooted in real-world testing.
Our first product, the ORLÉMUR UTC travel pillow, was awarded the Silver Medal at the Concours Lépine International Paris 2025 — a meaningful recognition of both its comfort and practical value, unanimously validated by the hundreds of visitors who tested it at the Paris Fair.
The name ORLÉMUR, a phonetic twin of “Hors les murs” (“outside the walls” or “beyond the walls”), reflects our mindset: to step outside, to discover, to open up.
Our logo — a window opening onto the world — embodies this philosophy.
